1. Introduction
Poolytix (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you access our web and mobile applications (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is reasonably capable of being associated with you.
- Personal Data: When you register, we collect your email address, secure authentication credentials (managed via Supabase or Sign in with Apple), and basic profile information.
- Operational Data: To provide the deterministic chemistry engine, we collect physical data regarding your pool(s), including volume, surface materials, chemical readings (pH, alkalinity, chlorine, etc.), and historical maintenance logs.
- Automated Usage Data: We automatically collect diagnostic data, including your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, and interaction metrics with the Service to monitor performance.
- Subscription Data: We receive provider-verified purchase history, current plan, renewal, expiration, cancellation, refund, and restore state from Apple for App Store purchases or Stripe for web purchases. Poolytix does not receive full card or bank-account details.
3. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Service and hold certain information. These are used primarily to maintain your authenticated session and secure your data across devices. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies, but this may render certain features of the Poolytix platform unusable.
4. How we use your information
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and secure the Poolytix logic engine.
- To calculate and output highly specific chemical dosing recommendations.
- To synchronize your historical data across your authenticated devices.
- To verify and provide subscription access purchased through Apple’s App Store or Stripe Managed Payments on the web.
- To notify you about changes to our Service, security updates, or policy modifications.
5. Third-party service providers
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share information strictly with enterprise-grade infrastructure partners required to operate the Service:
- Apple:Provides Sign in with Apple, StoreKit and App Store subscription billing, App Store server state and notifications, and Apple-controlled diagnostics. Apple manages App Store transactions, receipts, renewals, subscription changes, and refunds under Apple’s terms.
- Stripe/Link: Acts as merchant of record for eligible web transactions and handles payment processing, tax, receipts, subscription and payment-method management, and transaction support. Poolytix does not store or process card numbers on its servers.
- Supabase: Provides secure database hosting, backend infrastructure, and authentication protocols.
- Resend: Facilitates transactional email delivery (e.g., password resets, login links).
6. Data retention and security
We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Account deletion removes legally non-required Poolytix product data; minimal masked billing and deletion evidence may be retained for up to 24 months for reconciliation, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. Apple and Stripe retain transaction records under their own policies. We implement robust, industry-standard security measures (including encryption in transit and at rest) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your privacy rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request the correction of inaccurate data.
- Request the deletion of your personal data (“Right to be Forgotten”).
- Export a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
Authenticated users can export their Poolytix product data and request account deletion from Settings. Deleting a Poolytix account does not cancel or refund an App Store subscription; manage that subscription with Apple before deleting the account. To exercise these rights or request help, contact us at legal@poolytix.com.
8. Children’s privacy
Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without parental consent, we will take immediate steps to remove that information from our servers.
